Barcelona friendly for Shakhtar
By: sasha | December 8th, 2008Just a quick comment of the upcoming Barcelona – Shakhtar Donetsk “friendly” because it certainly does not have the feel of a crucial Champions League match. Shakhtar’s status is set as they are headed for the UEFA Cup and this match is truly a friendly at legendary grounds with the opposition made up of subs. With nothing on the line for Barcelona and the fact they Real Madrid they have decided to rest Samuel Eto’o, Víctor Valdés, Daniel Alves, Carles Puyol, Rafael Márquez, Yaya Touré, Xavi Hernández and Lionel Messi for the match. Mircea Lucescu will have Brandão back from suspension and Dmytro Chygrynskiy will return from injury. I question the overall match intensity and definitely grade this out as a glorified friendly before Shakhtar starts their holidays. Hmm…something tells me that preview won’t be appreciated by the UEFA types but its the truth.
