Metalist Kharkiv moves to next round of UEFA Cup against Dynamo

With a confident 2-0 win over Sampdoria, Metalist Kharkiv has advanced to next round of UEFA Cup and will now go up against Dynamo Kyiv. After holding a one goal advantage the Zhovto-Syn continued to attack at home and were rewarded with first-half goals by Ukraine international Serhiy Valyayev and Jajá.

Myron Markevych’s club was definitely feeling confident as they came out quick to the attack with two early efforts drifting off-course. However Valyayev made no mistake on the half hour off a nice one-two as he finished from just beyond the spot. Ten minutes later Jajá’s free-kick from twenty-five metres put the match out of reach 2-0.

Metalist and Dynamo are going to be quite sick of each other after they play three times in three weeks.
